Congratulations to Rozina Vavetsi (pictured left), and Patty Wongpakdee (pictured right), associate professors of fine arts, who have been awarded certificates of excellence as winners of the 2013 Graphic Design USA (GDUSA) Inhouse Design Awards, the largest showcase for outstanding work by inhouse designers. Vavetsi was recognized for her poster, "In Brands We Trust," and Wongpakdee for her designs for the American Cancer Society's Financial Services Cares and Birthday Bash. Examples of the projects will be featured on GDUSA's iPad app as well as its online and printed annual reports distributed to a national audience at trade shows and events throughout the year.
Vavetsi's poster, "In Brands We Trust," was designed to promote a December 2012 panel discussion at NYIT Gallery 61 in Manhattan. The panel consisted of four acclaimed designers: Karin Loglisci, Fabian Geyrhalter, John Nunziato, and William Schroeder, who showcased their work and spoke about the power of brands.
The following invitations depict her designs for American Cancer Society (ACS) Distinguished Events of New York City. "Birthday Bash" was an inaugural celebration in honor of renowned interior designers, Nate Burkus and Geoffrey Bradfield, for supporting the organization.
In addition, Wongpakdee was recognized for work branding ACS's "Financial Cares Services," a gala honoring John W. Thiel, head of the U.S. Wealth Management and Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management, with the 2012 Eugene D. O'Kelly Award. The gala also honored BlackRock, a leading asset management firm, the 2012 Financial Services Cares Distinguished Service Award.
