NYIT Competes! EDGE/ucation Pavilion Design

Last summer, the New York Restoration Project (NYRP), a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming open space in underserved communities and founded by Bette Midler, invited the firm, HOLLER Architecture along with seven other emerging NYC firms, to participate in the EDGE/ucation Pavilion Design Competition to create a state-of-the-art, flood-resistant outdoor recreation and learning center for Sherman Creek Park in Inwood/Washington Heights.

Professor Tobias Holler of Holler Architecture teamed up with Professor Matthias Altwicker, a group of current and former NYIT students, and a team of consultants. Although they did not win the competition, they were are very happy with the submission.  The entries of all eight teams are currently exhibited at the AIA New York Center for Architecture, 536 LaGuardia Place, New York, NY 10012.  This exhibit will be available for viewing until March 6, 2014.
