NYIT Salutes its Soldiers

New York, N.Y. (November 11, 2011) – NYIT honored students, faculty, and staff military veterans in a special luncheon yesterday in recognition of Veterans Day.   

Troy Miller
, (M.A. ’11), a veteran of Operation Desert Storm and associate dean of first-year admissions and scholarship, thanked the “brotherhood” of fellow veterans for dedicating their lives to service.

Miller spoke about the far-reaching commitment of soldiers and the bonds that tie them together during the luncheon at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway.

Veteran Frank Annunziata, a computer and electrical engineering student, introduced NYIT’s new Veterans Club, formed to create a stronger sense of community for students who served in the military. The Student Government Association will officially announce the club this week. Miller will serve as club adviser.  

Students sold t-shirts, buttons, and raffle tickets in support of fallen soldiers at the luncheon.
