NYIT President Guiliano Reflects on Anniversary of 9/11

Dear NYIT Community Member:

As we approach the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, I recall on that tragic day I sent a message reminding colleagues and students that we have always been a strong community, and that we needed to do everything possible to help each other as well as the world at large.  Now, a decade later, I hope all of us at NYIT will continue to model the spirit of unity that marked the period in America and beyond immediately following the disaster.  Our campuses draw students from 44 states and 109 countries—we are an example not only of diversity, but also of cooperation.  Let that be a legacy of 9/11—our legacy.

On 9/11, I hope you will take a moment of silence as a small tribute to the victims, the rescuers, their loved ones, and everyone who was affected.  And perhaps you will have the opportunity to participate in one or more of the campus or community activities planned to help us reflect on that day and its aftermath.

Join the NYIT community for 9/11 memorial events.

Sincerely,

Edward Guiliano, Ph.D.
President
