NYIT President Guiliano Addresses M.B.A. Graduates in China

New York, N.Y (April 19, 2010) –
New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) President Edward Guiliano, Ph, D., celebrated the accomplishments of 98 NYIT M.B.A. students at partner institution Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics (JUFE) in Nanchang, China on April 10, 2010.

The ninth NYIT-JUFE commencement ceremony awarded graduates with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from NYIT and a program certificate from JUFE. Each year, the M.B.A. program attracts a diverse student body that includes working adults who are entrepreneurs, business executives, and government officials.

“My challenge to NYIT’s M.B.A. graduates is that they apply the perspective, knowledge, and skills that they have acquired to a global landscape,” said NYIT President Guiliano. “Therefore, they may solve – through technology, as well as intelligence, and compassion – problems that exist on a global scale, and that they will accomplish this by nurturing and leveraging their NYIT contacts: professors, colleagues, and the international network of NYIT alumni they have just joined.”

The graduates are now part of NYIT’s more than 81,500 alumni worldwide and are invited to attend NYIT’s main commencement ceremony at its Old Westbury campus on Sunday, March 23, 2010.

Since 1997, NYIT has had an educational cooperation agreement with JUFE, and was among the first to receive approval from the Ministry of Education to operate foreign degree programs in China. The program is usually completed in one and a half years through a combination of intensive class lectures and an online component. NYIT faculty members from New York are responsible for teaching 75 percent of the coursework, and classes are offered in Nanchang, Shenzhen, and Shanghai.
