NYIT Expert Shares Tips on Financial Aid

Old Westbury, N.Y. (February 3, 2012) – Every student should apply for financial aid and scholarships, according to Jacquelyn Nealon, Ed.D., NYIT’s vice president for enrollment, communications, and marketing.

Nealon says you need to “be in it to win it,” in an article featured on Feb. 3 on The Choice Blog in The New York Times.

Financially-speaking, students should include their “safety,” “good match,” and “reach” schools on their college wish-lists, just as they do for academics, says Nealon.  Higher-priced schools may give grants, scholarships, or aid that can reduce costs.

As a parent who recently sent her first child to college, Nealon combines her more than 20 years of experience in admissions, financial aid, and enrollment to help students and parents get the best package available during the college admissions process.

To learn Nealon’s five tips, visit Expert Advice on the Best Ways to Secure Financial Aid on The Choice Blog in The New York Times.
