NYIT Expands Alumni and Employer Outreach in the Middle East

Amman, Jordan and Manama, Bahrain (Feb. 24, 2011) – New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) opens new Offices of Career Services and Alumni Affairs at NYIT-Amman and NYIT-Bahrain, broadening relationships with alumni, community, and business partners in the Middle East.

NYIT has named two associate directors of alumni and employer relations at each campus. Lina Mattar will head the office in NYIT-Amman. She will engage and build relationships with the growing network of NYIT graduates and offer career advice and opportunities for alumni and students. She will also foster social and community bonds through special events and online initiatives.

Likewise, alumna Amal Osama Al Dallal (B.S. ’08, M.B.A. ’10) will lead the office in NYIT-Bahrain. She will strengthen bonds with students and alumni while expanding the network of potential employers for NYIT graduates. She will also plan special events and projects to assist students with job placement in Bahrain and abroad.

They will work closely with administrators at their respective campuses, as well as coordinate efforts with NYIT’s New York campuses through John Hyde, dean of career services, and Joseph Fortine, director of alumni relations.

“I am looking forward to working with Lina and Amal as we build upon our existing relationships with alumni, community, and business partners in the Middle East, said Hyde. “They each bring unique talents to NYIT from their experiences, and will help students and alumni participate in our broad range of programs, services, and events.”
