NYIT Awards Students for Leadership and Service

won the award for "Most Improved Organization of the Year"

Old Westbury, N.Y. (April 22, 2011) – NYIT awarded more than 65 students for their outstanding leadership and achievements at the Student Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony.

Students from both New York campuses were recognized at the NYIT de Seversky Mansion on Tuesday night for their volunteer efforts, sportsmanship, extracurricular leadership, and more.

“Each of you has a unique story,” NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., told students, “but all of you are linked because of your proven ability to lead, serve others, face challenges, and succeed in the global, digital workplace you will soon enter.”

He added that the students have touched many at NYIT, and those people are better off for having known them, studied with them, worked with them, and competed with them.

Representatives from the Office of Student Affairs thanked students for their contributions, and presented awards over dinner on April 20.
