NYIT Alum Named in 2009's Edition of Who’s Who in the World

Abu Dhabi, UAE. (September 30, 2009) -- Omar Al Helalat (M.S. ’07) is pursuing a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, N.J. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) and the Optical Society of America (OSA), and is listed in the 2009 edition of Who’s Who in the World. Omar’s research interests include artificial neural networks and pattern recognition. Omar co-authored a paper with Dr. Ahmad M. Sarhan, NYIT-Abu Dhabi associate professor of Engineering and Computing Sciences, entitled "Arabic Character Recognition using Artificial Neural Networks and Statistical Analysis," which was published in the May 2007 issue of Proceedings of World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology.
