NYIT-Amman Talent Show Features Traditional and Contemporary Flair

Amman, Jordan. ( May 6, 2009)-- More than 500 people gathered at the NYIT-Amman undergraduate campus to watch NYIT students and Jordanian youth perform at the university’s 2009 Talent Show today.

The festival is aimed to encourage students to exhibit their talents and creativity in different arts, including music composition, singing and acting, in addition to dancing and folklore dancing.

The event began with an opening performance by Hani Dabit and his band. He performed two songs written and composed by him, and another two performances by various Arab artists. Following that was a performance by Fadi Faddah, an NYIT student who dazzled the crowd with his soft rock country music. Adding diversity to the event, student Khaled Shamlawi rapped with friend Dana Khaourfa. This was followed by a hilarious comedy performance by student Ahmad Habash, who also brought student Nadia Jarrar up on stage in the middle of his skit to add a surprise flavor to the show.

Intermission included a belly dancing performance, comically performed by a man, and a comedy skit. Rap band Arabian Outlaws, including NYIT student Yousif Siyam, rocked the talent show with their performance. Other rappers included Rami Khader, and Hussam Al Zubi. There was also an amazing martial arts performance by Firas Abdulhadi and Mohammad Bashiti, and a closing scene by Ali Al-Zubi and his band, who performed an amazing hip-hop, on and off stage.

This event was sponsored by Maximum Sound Output, which provided High Definition Sound Equipment. Wheels Express supported the show’s marketing campaign, and 7Stars TV Station taped the show and aired it on TV.
