New York, N.Y. (February 7, 2012) –New York Institute of Technology’s main Manhattan campus building will be named the Edward Guiliano Global Center. The building, located at 1855 Broadway, is named in honor of NYIT’s president, Edward Guiliano, Ph.D.
“President Guiliano has been a transformational leader of long standing, whose commitment to NYIT, scholarship, and philanthropy have heightened the university's brand, impact, and outcomes in New York and throughout the world,” said Linda Davila (B.S. ’78), chair of the Board of Trustees, in an announcement to the NYIT community.
“We join NYIT’s 14,000 students, 3,600 faculty and staff, and 89,000 alumni in congratulating President Guiliano as we honor him for his nearly four decades of service to us, and we look forward to years more of his efforts leading NYIT,” said Davila on behalf of NYIT’s Board of Trustees.
Several initiatives related to the naming of the Edward Guiliano Global Center will take place in February and March 2012. They will include a recognition ceremony, an exhibit at NYIT-Manhattan, and a “virtual wall” on the NYIT website where well-wishers can share their congratulations and view those of others.
