NYIT Named a Great College to Work For

Old Westbury, N.Y. (July 25, 2011) – NYIT is one of the best colleges to work for in the nation, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

NYIT is recognized for its teaching environment as well as compensation and benefits offered to employees. The results, released today in The Chronicle’s annual report on “The Academic Workplace,” are based on a survey of nearly 44,000 employees at 310 colleges and universities across the country.

For the second year in a row, faculty and staff rated NYIT highly for offering pay and benefits that meet their needs. Employees also are pleased with the way the university values innovative work and high-quality teaching.

“We have enthusiastic and talented faculty and staff members,” said NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D. “Our employees are fundamental to the well-being of our institution, and we fully support their efforts. Despite the economic climate, we continue to grow, hiring new faculty and staff, and offering benefits to reflect our confidence.”

NYIT is one of 111 schools recognized among small, medium, and large institutions. NYIT promotes faculty and staff accomplishments throughout the university, organizes recognition and social events for employees, and is responsive to employee needs to encourage a productive teaching and working environment.
