New York, N.Y. (Aug. 18, 2010) – New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) will host its Cyber Security Conference on Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway in New York City. Government officials and experts in the field of cyber security will discuss the threats surrounding cyber vulnerability as well as the latest developments to protect individuals and organizations against cyber attacks.
“We have established this conference to collaboratively tackle the problem of cyber attacks, giving students and professionals first-hand opportunities to discover and share critical intelligence on issues shaping the future of cyber security,” said Nada Anid, Ph.D., dean of NYIT’s School of Engineering and Computing Sciences. “The conference also serves as an unparalleled opportunity for employers and potential employees to network across their fields of interest in an effort to advance the eradication of cyber terrorism and cyber crime.”

The conference will be held at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, 1871 Broadway between 61st and 62nd Streets in New York City. The conference fee is $100 prior to Aug. 25 and $120 for those who register after Aug. 25; alumni, faculty, and staff are eligible for additional discounts and students may register free of charge.
Lunch, included in the conference fee, will be held at Josephina Restaurant, 1900 Broadway between 63rd and 64th Streets. Attendees may receive five continuing education hours applicable to re-registration as a professional engineer or IT specialist.
