Nanjing, China (Oct. 12, 2011) — NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., welcomed more than 300 incoming freshmen at the NYIT-Nanjing campus today by sharing the successes of the campus’ first graduating class, who graduated earlier this year.
“I am proud to tell you that 98% accepted outstanding job offers or educational opportunities in China or the U.S.,” he said during his opening remarks. “Almost any university you can name would envy that placement rate.”
President Guiliano encouraged the NYIT-Nanjing Class of 2015, whom he called “the most electronically connected generation in history,” to remember that the way they use technology to communicate is “reshaping how we at NYIT teach and learn” within a university network of 14,000 students and 3,600 faculty and staff around the world.
“This year, NYIT’s campuses have students from 44 states and a record 109 nations—including some from New York who will be spending the semester in Nanjing,” President Guiliano added. “I am honored that NYIT’s increased efforts to define itself as a leader in global higher education resonate so strongly with an international audience.”
