And, while they are experiencing a vibrant summer in New York City, participants can earn three or six credits toward their M.B.A. degree. Students will combine classroom learning with study tours relevant to their courses. Among the sites students may visit:

INTL 705: International Economic Concepts and Policies - 3 credits (with Dr. Chandrasekar)
This course provides a comprehensive conceptual framework for international commerce. Integrated treatment of theory, institutional arrangement, policy and treaties is employed to promote understanding of transnational trade and investment. Gains from international exchange are explained. Barriers to trade and investment are reviewed and analyzed. The case for and against free trade is presented. International agreements that spur or deter investment and trade are discussed. Policies influencing flows of goods, services and investments are evaluated. The international monetary system and its foreign exchange markets are studied in the context of alternative international adjustment mechanisms. Balance of payments concepts, structure and approaches to its determination, are examined. This course is designed to offer a logical framework and a set of operationally useful concepts for a variety of audiences. Private sector business decision makers and governmental policy makers are the primary intended audiences. Apart from career interest, the course meets the needs of individuals who wish to understand and be conversant with international events. Prerequisite: ECON 595 or proof of completion of a basic principles of economics course consisting of both macro and microeconomics or a total of 3 credits, taken within the past 5 years; or proof of CLEP examination.
* It is the student's responsibility to determine his/her home institution's policies regarding credit transfer. Certificates of completion will be distributed to all participants at the conclusion of the summer program, provided they have successfully completed the requirements.
Eligibility: This program is for students currently enrolled in an M.B.A. program at an accredited institution or those who have already completed a graduate degree. Other applicants may be considered after special review.
