Bettie Walker is a 70 year old woman who has overcome the odds and survived Leukemia, I lost a family member to this disease not too long ago. So the fact that she survived speaks wonders. With a weight loss of over 120 pounds to date she has demonstrated a healthy lifestyle and is committed to being around for her five children, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She exercises two times a week and the YMCA and also volunteers at her local senior center to speak about her experience with overcoming her disease as well as the importance of educating yourself as a senior citizen by getting regular check ups and truly understanding your health. Mrs.Walker did not let this disease stop her but push her forward to living and making the best out of life.
