On May 16th, 2014, the last day of the spring semester, the first-ever NYIT Film and Animation Festival was held at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway, Manhattan campus.
Over 70 short films and animations were shown at the event produced by NYIT students, faculty and alumni. Global contributions and the panel discussion between student producers and the audience were a few strong highlights of the event. The Animations shown at the end of the day drew a big crowd. The planning of next year’s festival is under way.
Special thanks go to the industry professionals who served as jury members and voted for winners in a variety of categories: Rik Cordero, Kweighbaye Kotee, Donald Fizzinoglia, Lin Tan, Kevin Brownie, Ashley Gerst, Margalit Neusner, and John Mattiuzzi.
Congratulations to the winners!! This year's festival was competitive; all participants should feel proud of their accomplishments and hard work! Congratulations, NYIT students!
