Biography
Rosemary Gallagher, P.T., D.P.T., G.C.S., is an admissions coordinator in the Department of Physical Therapy, faculty associate in the Center for Gerontology and Geriatrics, and is involved in NYIT’s task force to improve teaching quality, among other initiatives at NYIT.
Joining NYIT in 2008, Gallagher also works at Long Beach Medical Center and provides private home care. She is a board-certified specialist in geriatrics, credentialed clinical instructor, and has a certificate in health literacy from the Long Island Geriatric Education Center.
She previously taught at State University of New York at Stony Brook, Nassau BOCES Adult Day Program, and Rockland Community College. Her more than 20 years of clinical experience ranges from positions at South Shore Health Care, Park Avenue Extended Care Facility, Grandell Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and other facilities in New York.
She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in health sciences at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She received her doctorate and bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from State University of New York at Stony Brook, and bachelor’s degree in physical education at Colorado State University.
