Biography
Robert Hill, Ph.D., heads the Department of Anatomy at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine of NYIT. In this role, Hill teaches students in the D.O. and health sciences programs a strong understanding of human anatomy.
Hill joined NYIT in 2008 as an assistant professor. His research focuses on three main areas: the anatomy and evolution of extinct reptiles including dinosaurs and crocodiles; comparative anatomy and histology of ossified dermal tissues (skin bones); and clinical manifestations of osteoarthritis and anatomical variations.
He is a member of several national scientific societies, including American Association of Anatomists, Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, and Society of Systematic Biologists. He received the NYCOM Standard of Excellence Award in 2010, and has published various peer-reviewed articles.
Prior to joining NYIT, Hill taught courses at Philadelphia University and Hofstra University. He received a Ph.D. and M.Phil. in anatomical sciences and an M.S. in basic health sciences from Stony Brook University, as well as a B.S. in biology from Hofstra University.
