Biography
Patricia Precin, M.S., O.T.R/L., L.P., provides 22 graduate credits each year, advises students, and is the primary investigator for master’s theses. She serves as a faculty associate for NYIT’s Center for Gerontology and Geriatrics, which helps prepare an aging society on the regional, state, national, and global levels.
Precin serves as a research associate for the Vocational Independence Program at NYIT, and organizes many campus and community service initiatives. She is a part of the Golden Key International Honor Society, Cambridge Who’s Who, and is the faculty advisor for Pi Theta Epsilon, among many notable honors.
Precin currently serves as an occupational therapy expert witness for various law firms.
Prior to working at NYIT, Precin was the managing director of Pathways to Housing in New York City. There, she managed and developed a staff of 200 and more than 500 clients for the non-profit agency that houses and provides assertive community treatment to chronically homeless, mentally ill clients. Among other part-time and volunteer positions, she also was the director of the PRIDE Program at the Brooklyn Bureau of Community Service, clinical director of occupational, recreational, and creative arts therapies at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital, and occupational therapist at the Society of the New York Hospital.
She is a doctoral candidate for a Ph.D. in psychology at Northcentral University, and for a Ph.D. in psychoanalysis at Heed University. She has a psychoanalytic certificate from the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis. She received a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy, master’s degree, and A.B.D. in biophysics at the State University of New York Health Science Center. Simultaneously, she completed 2 ½ years of medical school. She also earned bachelor’s degrees in pre-medicine and psychology from the Western Illinois University.
