Michelle Perepiczka, Ph.D.

Biography
Michelle Perepiczka, Ph.D., joined NYIT's School of Education in 2012. She is a licensed mental health counselor in New York, specializing in play therapy, and a certified school counselor and registered play therapist supervisor.  She is past president of the Association for Humanistic Counseling and serves as a Mental Health Responder for the American Red Cross and the New York City Medical Reserve Corps. 

Perepiczka received her master's of science in counseling and development from Texas Woman's University and her doctorate from Texas A&M University. Prior to her appointment at NYIT, she worked at several institutions, including Walden University, Monmouth University, and Lamar University.  She is author of numerous articles for journals, including The Journal of Counseling Research and Practice, The Professional Counselor, and The Journal of School Counseling. She has also written chapters for clinical mental health counseling texts.  

At NYIT, she serves several committes, including the Educational Technology Committee and the Education, Social Science, and Behavioral Research Institutional Review Board.
