NYIT's Dhadkan and GIVE making a difference!

The NYIT's Dance Team Dhadkan and club GIVE (Goals, Inspiration, Values and Education) participated in Every Child Matter's Parent Convention 2011 on October 15, 2011. Both organizations discussed the importance of staying physically fit, engaging in extracurricular activities, while also targeting the importance of attending college/university for further studies. They also had an opportunity to interact with children on an individual basis by teaching the kids a dance routine and playing many creative educational games with them. By taking little steps to make a difference, NYIT's clubs and organizations are geared toward the right direction to make positive change in our community!

Every Child Matters is a non-profit organization that works to make public investments in children and families a national political priority. They host numerous events throughout the year to engage the community on policy changes and raise issues regarding children's rights. The NYIT Community Service Center-Old Westbury is proud to have collaborated with such a prestigious organization and hope to engage more students in such rewarding opportunities.
