The evidence is all around us, hiding in plain sight. When you walk through these doors and look around at the students that frequent these buildings, there is a good chance that you are staring at living proof. Proof that there are students willing to lend their time and skills to strengthen their communities, and that their numbers are growing.
One of the latest examples of living proof that I've come across came in the form of a first year undergrad student named Chanelle Sears. During her first semester at NYIT, Chanelle volunteered at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, managing its clothing closet.
