On Tuesday, April 17, 2012 the OW Community Service Center staff hosted the 2nd Annual Purple Palooza Challenge, a fun and competitive Relay for Life fundraiser. 14 students, faculty, and staff came out to participate, as well as 30 volunteers, including members of the men's soccer team. Participants hopped on one foot, jumped rope, blew up and popped balloons, did jumping jills (can you figure out what they are?!), balanced ping pong balls, answered trivia questions, made cup pyramids- among other challenges. Despite the not-so-convenient wind, the event was a success! $100 was raised towards Relay for Life, and everyone had an enjoyable time. Congratulations to our 1st place winners Ammen Malik and Amrit Singh who went home with Moe's Bucks, Cold Stone giftcards, water bottles, ear phones, and other goodies. A huge thanks to all of our participants and volunteers who helped make this event possible, and contributed to a great cause! The CSC looks forward to coming up with new and crazy challenges next year, and seeing everyone out again for another fun-filled event! ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?
