"Death by Design" Screening and Discussion

NYIT College of Arts and Sciences is co-sponsoring a showing of Death by Design, a new documentary that looks at the substantial environmental and health cost of the information revolution. The event, which is co-sponsored by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, will include a discussion with director and producer Sue Williams.

About the film

Over the past decade, smartphones, tablets, and laptops have taken the world by storm, transforming business practices, democratizing information dissemination, and changing the way we interact with friends and family. Even as it brings enormous benefits, the information revolution has come at a substantial environmental and health cost. In her new film. Death by Design, director and producer Sue Williams explores the tech global supply chain in a quest to assess the consequences of our digital dependence. On December 13, the National Committee, in partnership with NYIT College of Arts and Sciences, will hold a screening of Death by Design. Ms. Williams will be joined by Professor Darrin Magee for a panel discussion after the screening, moderated by National Committee Vice President Jan Berris.
