Summer 2016 Technology & Engineering Experience
REU Summer Camp Shuttle

Are you a high school student with an interest in technology, engineering or computer science? If so, you can explore an exciting and challenging career path, while earning two college credits in a two-week Career Discovery Experience in Technology and Engineering at NYIT’s Manhattan or Old Westbury campus.

This fun and informative two college credit program will give you insight into the very essence of these stimulating professions. For starters, you will run a number of guided, hands-on laboratory experiments in electronic music, coding, gaming, hacking, robotics, 3D printing, CAD, prototyping, materials science and nanotechnology.

  • Includes field trips where you will explore 21st-century technologies in the heart of New York City.
  • Guest speakers with years of experience will share their personal stories about the technology/engineering workplace.
  • Members of the NYIT faculty and staff will describe a student’s life at NYIT for those enrolled in our undergraduate programs.
Camp 2013

Lunch will be given to all participants on a daily basis, and at the end of the session, NYIT Career Service and Admissions teams will give presentations on what NYIT can offer to them as students.

NYIT's School of Engineering and Computing Sciences offers degrees in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology, and Telecommunications network management.

  • Credits earned in the summer program are applicable to any NYIT degree in these majors.
  • NYIT's Manhattan campus is easily accessible by bus, subway, or train.
  • Nearby discounted parking is also available.

Tuition and Fees:

Limited scholarship funds are available based on merit and need.
