Certificate in Distance Learning
The rapid rise in the use of new telecommunications services for educational purposes makes it essential for educators to learn to plan for and use the various available systems to maximize instructional effectiveness. This 18-credit postmaster’s certificate program in Distance Learning provides candidates the tools they need to assess distance learning needs in their instructional environment and develop appropriate technological and pedagogical solutions.
Unique Features - Certificate in Distance Learning
Program resources include the newly redesigned distance learning laboratories on two NYIT campuses: Old Westbury (Long Island) and Manhattan. The laboratories include two-way audio/video, multimedia presentation and fiber optic capabilities. Candidates also experience distance learning and study computer teleconferencing applications by taking a course using computer teleconferencing as the instructional delivery mode.
Candidate Profile
The typical candidate will possess a master’s degree in instructional technology or a related field and significant experience in technology. The certificate program will prepare candidates to develop, deliver, and coordinate distance learning programs.
