Masters Degree in Childhood Education Now Fully Online

The School of Education is happy to announce NY State Education Department approval to offer our nationally recognized Master of Science in Childhood Education as a 100% online degree program.

Welcome to the School of Education!

Welcome! ...to the School of Education (SOE) at NYIT. As colleges go, NYIT is young (established in 1955) and SOE is even younger (formed in 1991). As a result, our students benefit from programs, developed in the Information Age, that fully integrate technology in every field - from Childhood Education, School Counseling to Educational Leadership, Professional Training, and Instructional Technology - leading the way in several fields. For example, in the past five years, more than 1,000 teachers, supervisors, principals, and superintendents in the New York metro area have received their training in Instructional Technology from SOE and are now leading the technology planning and implementation in their schools.

Our graduates' pass rates on the state teacher certification exams (NYSTCE) are consistently above average. Our long-term partnerships with the UFT and Teacher Centers not only assure that our programs are aligned with the needs of our community schools, they assure that our programs are easily accessible to students in nine counties: Brooklyn, Nassau, Manhattan, Queens, Orange, Rockland, Suffolk, Sullivan, and Westchester.

I invite you to browse the SOE Web site for an in depth look at our programs in your area of interest. If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment to speak with an advisor, please call 516.686.7777. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Michael Uttendorfer
Dean
