Energy Management, M.S.

Prepare for an exciting career in energy and facilities management by going beyond the standard business curriculum and gaining technical skills that are highly valued by employers.

What You’ll Learn

Through the Energy Management, M.S., you’ll master the latest technologies used in green buildings, power systems, and facility security. You’ll learn about the wind energy, advanced batteries, and smart grid systems that are transforming the way we generate and deliver electricity, and conduct state-of-the-art research in our Energy and Green Technologies Lab. You’ll work side-by-side faculty who are experts in facilities management, risk assessment, and alternative energy systems.

To fit this program into your busy schedule, you can attend classes at either our Long Island campus or fully-online. Weekend and evening courses are also offered.

You’ll have the opportunity to work on funded research projects for the Department of Defense, National Science Foundation, and more alongside faculty both in and out of New York Tech’s Entrepreneurship and Technology Innovation Center (ETIC).

How You’ll Succeed

Upon graduation, you’ll have acquired the critical skills sought by employers in a range of industries. You’ll have gained practical experience with solar power systems, wind turbines, and other renewable energy technologies, as well as proficiency in conducting energy audits to identify energy savings, developing procedures for environmental compliance, and implementing strategies for facility operations.

Some credits/courses taken in this degree program can be applied to the Energy Technology, Advanced Certificate; Environmental Management, Advanced Certificate; Facilities Management, Advanced Certificate; or the Infrastructure Security Management, Advanced Certificate.

International F-1 students who successfully complete this degree are eligible for an additional 24-month STEM OPT extension to work in the U.S. in an area directly related to their area of study immediately upon completing the customary 12-month post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT).

College of Engineering and Computing Sciences students took home first- and second-place prizes at the 10th annual Cultivating Resources for Employment with Assistive TEchnology (CREATE) Symposium for their inventions designed to assist those with developmental disabilities in their everyday tasks at work.
