Public events bring together faculty members from across the institution to facilitate conversations about teaching, learning, scholarship, and service. Public events are varied, and may include:

Formal Workshops

Workshops are offered on a wide range of topics, including course development, teaching and learning styles, incorporating technology in the classroom, assessing student learning, teaching methodologies, interpreting student evaluations of teaching, classroom management, student demographics, balancing multiple professional obligations, academic advising, academic integrity and related policies, using groups in the classroom, etc. Departments can request customized workshops for meetings or departmental retreats.
 

Curriculum Development

CTL staff can consult with individual faculty members or whole departments on all aspects of curriculum: from design or re-design of individual activities … to exams … to courses … to entire programs.
