On April 17, NYIT and Peking University jointly organized a conference in Beijing addressing “The Water-Energy Nexus: Sustainability and Global Challenges.” The conference brought together some of the world’s foremost experts in the fields of water management and energy conservation. NYIT’s School of Engineering & Computing Sciences and Peking University’s Center for Water Research, in association with Wuhan University’s International School of Software, led an interdisciplinary workshop, which allowed for a broad-based perspective drawing from academia and research scientists, national agencies, foundations, and corporate partners, and focused on the advancement of science and technology. A series of 90-minute sessions included platform presentations and roundtable discussions, and explored the formation of a US-China Water Consortium for Research and Innovation.
