Edward Guiliano, Ph.D.
CEO and President, NYIT

 

Appointed president in 2000, Dr. Guiliano has lead the transformation of NYIT from a local college into a regional institution with a recognizable national, global, and digital brand.

 

With Dr. Guiliano at the helm, NYIT has recruited seasoned administrators and world-class deans; attracted outstanding students from all 50 states and more than 97 countries; and expanded NYIT's comprehensive international and online programs. NYIT now provides career-oriented professional education to more than 15,000 students at campuses in New York, Canada, Asia, and the Middle East, and online programs globally.

 

 
     
Dena Winokur, Ph.D. is the executive director of the NYIT Young Adult Research Institute. She has more than 20 years of experience in advertising, public relations, and consumer marketing. She held executive positions at AT&T, Burson-Marsteller, Downey, Weeks and Toomey, and has served as a consultant to non-profit and Fortune 500 companies. She is a past president of the Public Relations Society of America - New York. Winokur has published in many academic refereed journals and trade publications. She is an associate professor and coordinator of the communication arts department at NYIT. She holds a Ph.D. degree from Ohio University. Please click here to contact Dr. Winokur.  
     
Scott Purvis of Gallup-Robinson provides the institute with general project direction. Purvis has 20 years experience in marketing research. Many of those years have been spent in working with an elite group of key national advertisers in the healthcare, packaged goods, automotive, technology, and financial services categories. He is the principal researcher on many published and proprietary studies, is a patent holder on CERA TM , a physiological technique for measuring emotions-based response to advertising, and is the author of Which Ad Pulled Best?, a college workbook in its ninth edition. He holds an undergraduate degree in Linguistics, a J.D. from Georgetown University, and an M.B.A. from George Washington University.  
     
Paul Murphy of Gallup-Robinson is responsible for overall project management and client support. Murphy has more than 30 years of experience in research, advertising, and strategic planning. Before returning to GR, where he began his career, he has held senior positions at Young & Rubicam and Audits & Surveys. Paul has an A.B. in psychology from Harvard University and has completed graduate studies in psychology and statistics at Columbia University and the University of Illinois.  
     
NYIT Young Adult Research Institute utilizes an interdisciplinary approach. Faculty and students of the College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Communication Arts work on research projects together through structured classes and guided projects.
