2 FULL WEEKS - $1,800 for Two Week Session

FILMMAKER’S BOOTCAMP - LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!  (2 Week Program)
Session 1:  July 6-19 - Local 
Session 2:  July 20 - Aug. 2 - Local

Shoot and edit a New York City film in the studio and on location in Central Park from beginning to end! Learn Visual and Special Effects on the computer and in the studio. Work with professional New York City Actors! Tour a NYC industry studio.  Student film crews choose from a Murder Mystery, Crime Drama, or Science Fiction script. Plan it, shoot it, edit it, add effects, screen it on the final day, and go home with a DVD of the your film crew’s creation. This is a hands-on, comprehensive, immersive program. Bring your creativity and be ready for intense action and daily excitement!

CAMERA 3: Field Camerawork - Camera Practice in Central Park - Students will look for movie backgrounds in Central Park to use in the script they are writing.

DAY 3 GREENSCREEN - SPECIAL EFFECTS COMBINED WITH VIRTUAL EFFECTS SCRIPT 3: Finalize Script - Story Climax & Resolution
VISUALIZATION 3: Prop List, Wardrobe List, Visual Effects List - Complete Storyboarding
STUDIO 3: Intro to sound recording & Using Sound was a dramatic tool to Set Atmosphere, Mics, Foley Techniques
COMPUTER 2: Visual Effects lessons in Maya How to make fire & smoke. Students will learn to create fire and smoke and how to start to place the fire and smoke into the live action footage, combine and prepare images for virtual compositing with greenscreen effects shots.

DAY 4 PREPARATION FOR EDITING & SHOOTING SCRIPT 4: Script Rehearsal
STUDIO 4: Set Design & Prop Placement
CAMERA 4: Camera Blocking using completed storyboards & shot list, Empty set photography plates, empty set recording
DAY 5 PRODUCTION & COMPUTER PREP SCRIPT 5: Plot Modifications
COMPUTER 3:  File management, categorize footage, sequence creation, music selection, sound effects selection & lay the sound on tracks & plates.

DAY 6 BLOCKING AND FINAL PREPARATION FOR FILMING PRODUCTION:  BLOCKING ACTORS & CAMERAS - Students will learn how to position actors and cameras in the scene using each other as stand-ins.
STUDIO 5: Test Lighting, Test Sound, Mark Blocking, Finalize Locations for Availability

Meet the actors - How to professionally greet & manage cast
PRODUCTION: Shoot Script, Ingest Footage
STUDIO: Greenscreen work & testing
CAMERA 7: Shooting Day with Actors - NYC Actors will come in to play the parts in the movie. They will stay for the entire day. We will also ingest footage for the day.
