Karen J. Arthur, founder and president of KA Communications, brings a wealth of strategic communications experience in healthcare, foundation, nonprofit and public sectors. She has taught Public Relations at Fordham University and is also is a certified English As a Second Language Instructor. Prior to her consultancy, she served as Vice President at Douglas Gould & Company where she provided client services to non-profit organizations in the arts, education, international development, social justice, and social service arenas.
She has provided strategic counsel, public relations, reputation management, media advocacy, integrated media relations and partnership development to groups including Alembic Health, Association of Black Cardiologists, Bank Street College, Ipas, Lebanese American University, Lenox Hill Hospital, Novartis, NYU Medical Center, and Vox Medica. She has also given back by serving on local boards such as Harlem Textile Works and is currently on the Advisory Board of Mount Sinai Center for Multicultural & Community Affairs.
In mid career, she focused on healthcare public relations. She excelled at Mount Sinai Medical Center earning front page media coverage in top-of-the-line national outlets such as The New York Times. After six years with increasing responsibility as Interim Director, Public Affairs there, she moved to Juvenile Diabetes Reseach Foundation International as the Manager, Media Relations where she helped reposition the Foundation’s research.
Ms. Arthur also thrived in the public sector. She handled business public relations, speech writing and public service campaigns at the NYS Empire Development Corporation (formerly known as Urban Development Corporation). She served as Director of Public Affairs at the NYC Commission on the Status of Women, and Deputy, Director, NYC Human Rights Commission. She led the rebranding of these agencies as vociferous advocates for the rights of the City’s women and diverse ethnic constituents.
In May 2011, Ms. Arthur received the Presidential Award for her contribution to the PRSA-New York board as Chair, Meet the Media and Chair, Volunteer Committee. She also has served in leadership roles on the board of the Healthcare and Marketing Society.
A former social worker, Ms Arthur holds degrees in Psychology and Guidance & Counseling. She is a lover of languages and linguistics.
|Scott Benjamin is a veteran journalist with more than 15 years of media experience. He has accomplished what he likes to call the "Grand Slam of Journalism," meaning he has worked in newspapers, radio, television and the Internet. Professor Benjamin is currently a producer at Fox Business News, where he produces newscasts and stories for a national audience.|
|He started his career as a general assignment reporter for The Standard Star, a Gannett newspaper in New Rochelle, New York. After returning to school for his master's degree in journalism, he entered the brave new world of online media as a news editor at Prodigy. There he learned the pioneering techniques of combining old media with new media. From his successful stint at Prodigy, he moved on CNN, where he started as a news writer and worked his way up to becoming a television news producer.|
|He eventually worked for ABC News Radio, where he received the prestigious DuPont-Columbia University Award for excellence in broadcast journalism for team coverage of the 9/11 attacks.|
|While at ABC, Professor Benjamin stepped back from his journalism career to pursue a career in law. He earned his law degree at the City University of New York and practiced law for a short time before being lured back to television news.|
|Gene Coleman teaches undergraduate and graduate level courses in radio, television and film production. He introduced and developed new courses including Audio Theory/Practicum, a workshop-project approach to provide skill and experience in audio production; and Music Scoring for Film and Television, an introductory course to the theory and techniques of music scoring designed for film and television.|
|Before joining the ranks of academia first as a student, earning a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University and master’s degrees in Communication and Culture from NYU, and then following as an adjunct professor at NYIT, Professor Coleman had an active twenty year plus career as an audio engineer. His work has been well represented in the post-production areas of television and radio advertising commercials. Professor Coleman has been the recipient of advertising awards for his work in audio engineering including: CLIO’s for radio commercials such as "United Van Lines/San Jose", "United Van Lines/Van Linze", "United States Army ROTC/Strauss"; and an ANDY award presented by the Advertising Club of New York for a series of radio commercials for Ohrbach’s Department Store.|
|His film-television credits for sound recording and editing include "The Smokey Bear Show", a WABC-TV weekly animated series; and "DIG", a WCBS-TV animated special presentation. Along with his adjunct teaching and freelance audio projects, Professor Coleman is also a jazz saxophonist appearing often at jazz venues in the New York City area.|
|Eugene Cunningham is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of St. John’s University, with a B.S. in Communication Arts. He was awarded the University’s “Silver Key” for academic achievement. He also holds a M.A. in Media Studies from Queens College. He resides in Long Island with his wife and two children.|
|Professor Cunningham started his business career in Media in 1977 at Blair Television, where he spent over 21 years in the Research and Marketing arena. In 1989, he was promoted to the position of Vice President of Research and Marketing. He also spent 3 ½ years at Blair’s sister company, Petry Television, before moving to FOX Stations Sales as Vice President of Research in June 2001. While at Petry, he was the recipient of the “Circle of Excellence Award” for outstanding service. He has been an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Graduate Television and Radio department of Brooklyn College for 25 years and is also and Adjunct Assistant Professor in New York Institute of Technology’s Communications Arts Graduate Department for the past 5 years. He is the current Chairman of NYIT’s ASC Advisory Board. From 1986-1989 he was Chairman of the Association of Independent Television’s Research Advisory Committee and from 1999-2001 he was Co-Chair of the Television Bureau of Advertising Association’s (TVB) NSAC Research Committee. He is still an active committee member for TVB.|
|Randi Davis-Levin had the opportunity to work as an intern at a local television affiliate while attending Syracuse University, and it was there that she wrote and produced a children’s show seen all over upstate New York and Canada. This experience solidified her desire to work in the television industry.|
|She began her career at Showtime Networks in New York City where she worked in various positions in the Human Resources, Operations and Promotions departments. After five years at Showtime, she left and joined MTV Networks where she has worked in the Creative Services department for the last fifteen years, currently serving as Awards Director.|
|Professor Davis-Levin has been an adjunct professor at NYIT for many years, where she also earned a Masters Degree in Communication Arts with honors. She is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, CTAM, Promax as well as other industry organizations.|
|Paul Demonte has earned both his Bachelors and Masters degree in Communication Arts at NYIT. He has many years of experience behind the camera filming independent projects and spends most of his time editing short films and documentaries. Besides being a freelance editor and owning his own production company, Paul is also a member of Sony's ICE (Independent Contracting Engineer) Team as an editing consultant. There are 15 members country-wide and he is only one of two editors to be a part of the Sony team. Paul also works for E.C. Pro Video as a sales engineer advising customers on the latest technology and troubleshooting editing obstacles.|
|Rebecca Fitts is a freelance consultant specializing in the fashion, retail and accessory markets. Each of her clients requires a unique program ranging from creation and implementation of public relations plans, product placement, new product launches, celebrity seeding, assessment and evaluation of communication plans to managing client relationships and the resolution of PR organizational issues. Her consulting clients have included (among others) the Betsey Johnson, Christian Francis Roth, John Allan’s Clubs, Vera Wang Fine Jewelry Ltd., Scott Kay Sterling, Yeohlee, Levis Strauss & Co., ABS by Allen Schwartz and Mouawad USA.|
|She recently launched her own business of pop-up stores called Imilla Road – a traveling store that popped-up once a month in different parts of Manhattan. The store acted as a co-op for emerging designers.|
|She previously was the Director of Public Relations at national retailer Steve & Barry’s, who built their brand on offering quality clothing at affordable prices. She played an integral part in the Celebrity and Licensing Division launching several celebrity partnerships.|
|Prior to Steve & Barry’s Rebecca worked on several major brands as in-house PR counsel including Playboy where she worked in the Global Licensing Division representing their products and branded concept boutiques. She joined Tache USA, a jewelry manufacturer and diamond house which was launching a men’s jewelry collection and spent several years at Vera Wang working closely with the designer and CEO to grow the business into the professional company it is today leveraging both the media and licensing agreements. Ms. Fitts has also worked at two major public relations agencies Dan Klores Associates and Euro RSCG Middleberg.|
|She also is an Adjunct Professor at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM) that distinguishes itself as the college “LIM Where Business Meets Fashion,” the Fashion Institute of Technology, Brooklyn College and New York Institute of Technology.|
|Michael Gallina has worked with technology as an internet engineer, interface designer/art director, motion graphics/ video production artist and most recently as the head of his own technology shop, Huemans Inc., for more than twelve years. Since becoming incorporated in May of 2009, he has launched two enterprise level web applications, www.baktrack.com and www.livestew.com, and worked on numerous smaller projects.|
|Prior to starting his own company he worked as a consultant designing and developing interactive media, animation, and video/ graphic production for Intel, The Food Network, HCTV, DraftFCB, Icon Nicholson and several smaller companies.|
|In addition to his career as an interactive media professional, he has taught at many universities as he is passionate about helping aspiring professionals achieve their goals and maximize on their abilities through the ongoing exchange of creative ideas.|
|Chris Geiser first started in the motion picture industry in 1987 as a set electrician and lamp operator. After relocating to Seattle, Washington, he worked for five seasons on the Emmy Award winning television program Northern Exposure. During those five seasons he served as a lamp operator, rigger, and generator operator. He also worked as part of the lighting/electrical departments on numerous television commercials, feature films, music videos, and short films.|
|Professor Geiser was also chosen to be a member of the Anchorage team for ABC's Good Morning America - Great Alaskan Adventure in the Spring of 1994.|
|During the late 1990's he began exploring digital video editing, and programming for new media. In 1997 he joined the Garrigan Lyman Group as a New Media Producer, and was made Chief Technology Officer in 1999. Since joining Garrigan Lyman, Chris has been a part of large scale projects for companies such as Microsoft, T-Mobile, Babolat, LG Electronics, and many others.|
|Professor Geiser is an alumnus of NYIT (89), and holds an MBA from the City University of New York, Bernard Baruch College.|
Steven D. Gonzalez has been in TV production for over 20 years, with extensive experience as a Director at different news organizations.For over 13 years, he directed Bloomberg shows such as “Inside Track with Deirdre Bolton and Erik Schatzker,” “First Word,” “Morning Call on Bloomberg,” and also “The Charlie Rose Show.” At FOX News, he directed the shows “America’s Newsroom” and “Fox News LIVE.” Currently at CNCB, he directs “Squawk,” “Powerlunch,” “Closing Bell,” and “The Kudlow Report.” In addition to directing, he also managed the broadcast department for Thomson Reuters web-based service “Insider,” as well as serving as a studio cameraman for “Good Morning America.”
He has been involved in many independent projects throughout his career. He was a writer/ producer and 2nd Unit Director for an independent feature film, which won the NYC Horror Film Festival “Audience Choice Award” in 2003.
Professor Gonzalez received his MA with distinction from NYIT in Communication Arts. He is also a member of the Journalism and Media Advisory Panel at Mercy College.
|Jeffrey Hardy trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and has had an international career as an actor, having been a member of the New Shakespeare Company of San Francisco, worked in London's West End, repertory theatre in the United Kingdom, and toured with shows in the United States, Austria, Germany, Sweden and Australia.|
|In 1987 he raised over $1 million to launch with Judi Dench the Royalty Theatre Company which produced several shows in London's West End including: The Importance of Being Earnest (with Wendy Hiller), Semi Monde (with Judi Dench, Joanna Lumley, Barry Humphries et al), Graham Greene's The Living Room, A Tale of Two Cities, Harlequinade and The Browning Version (with Dorothy Tutin and Paul Eddington). In 1989 he formed Qantum Theatrical Productions which produced Coward’s The Young Idea (with Honor Blackman) (Yvonne Arnaud Theatre, Guildford).|
|For three years he had the honor of being responsible, on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen, for nominating members of the theatrical profession to be invited to attend the Royal Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace. He directed ice skaters Torvill and Dean in excerpts from Coward's Private Lives at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. He has taught acting at universities and drama academies in Britain and Australia and is admitted to practice as a Barrister at Law in Australia. He has a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degree. He is a member of Australian and British Actor's Equity and holds a "green card", making him able to live and work in the US. He has only recently moved to New York from Australia. He is currently an adjunct professor at the New York Institute of Technology and has recently performed in the acting company of Food For Thought Productions based at The Players Club in New York. He was admitted to practice as an Attorney at Law in New York in 2011.|
|Batt Johnson is a broadcaster/actor/professor who began his career at KPRI-FM in San Diego, California and then went to work at stations in Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Miami and Kansas City. NBC brought him to New York in 1977. He has successfully worked most of the major radio formats including jazz, rock, pop, big band and urban; all as an on air broadcaster|
|Professor Johnson blends his passion for music, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Theory/Media and a Master’s Degree in Communication Arts, to offer his listeners not only music and entertainment, but an informed overview of what they are hearing. He created numerous special programs on musicians and their instruments, including The Evolution of Jazz Guitar now for the legendary jazz station WRVR-FM, in New York. He has written three books: What is This Thing Called Jazz?, Rich and Famous in Thirty Seconds (TV commercials/acting) and Powerful Principles for Presenters (his NYIT public speaking textbook). This has taken him to his fourth book, a media training manual for professional athletes, inspired by his media training work with the NBA (National Basketball Association), which he is currently writing.|
|After more then a decade in radio broadcasting, Professor Johnson began a successful career in television in 1981. He was a writer and national host for MTV’s VH-1 Music Television; music writer and host for Only One New York, a weekly magazine television show on PBS; co-host on Campus America (NCTV), and a home shopping host on Q2 Television (QVC Network). Since 1981 he has appeared in numerous television commercials and corporate films for Pepsi, Norelco, Wisk, McDonalds, Sears, Kodak, Burger King, Eastern Airlines, Wendy’s, TJ Maxx, Today’s Man, JC Penney, Charles Schwab, and more. His corporate films include some of the largest companies in the world: Exxon, AT&T, Bristol Meyers-Squibb, IBM, Merrill Lynch, American Express, Sony, Prudential Insurance, Prudential Securities, Gulfstream Aeronautical Corp; Continental Airlines in-flight video, Aetna Casualty, Chase bank, Dreyfus Fund, Merck & Co.; JP Morgan Chase, Warner Lambert, and many other major companies.|
|His acting awards include: The New York Film and Video Festivals Bronze Medal for an Eastern Airlines commercial; a Mic Award for creative excellence for co-writing, voice over and producing a radio commercial for Tactel Cellular Phones, and he was a nominee for a Clio Award for a New York, Maryland, and Arizona State Lottery TV commercial, and two international Film and Television Festival Awards for American Express and Gulfstream Aeronautical. Professor Johnson’s hobbies include music, international travel, Latin and ballroom dancing, particularly Argentine tango which has taken him to that country several times and he studies languages as well.|
|Born in Casablanca, Morocco, writer and director Assia Lakhlif grew up in New York City since the age of eight. Studying Fine Arts at The Cooper Union she received her B.F.A. in 2005 and then completed her graduate studies in filmmaking at The California Institute of the Arts earning her Master's in Film and Video in 2008. Her films have been screened internationally at Cannes, ArteEast, Jordan film festival, NewFilmmakers, Future Shorts Denmark, and the NY shorts fest. She's exhibited a series of her video works in London, Egypt, India, and Sharjah (UAE).|
|Susan Landgraf is an artist, writer and educator. She holds a Master’s in Studios Art from New York University/ International Center of Photography, and a Bachelor’s in Art History from New York University. For over 26 years, Professor Landgraf has been teaching fine art photography and courses based in all art practices and the theories that engage creative consciousness. For years, she has worked independently with students in studies which incorporate art practice with theory, cultural and gender studies, thought systems based in philosophy and psychology and the place of language/ writing in all of these areas.|
|Professor Landgraf has exhibited widely and her work appears in museums and private collections. Her work has been featured in numerous publications and she has been the recipient of various honors including residencies, fellowships and grants.|
|Michael Leib began teaching in the Communication Arts department in 2004 and was for two years a Visiting Professor and after that time became an adjunct professor teaching a variety of courses in advertising, film, television, communications law, communication theory, screen writing and graphic design.|
|He is also an accomplished writer, having authored numerous graphic novels, including the critically acclaimed “TAG: Cursed.” He also spent several years at DC Comics as the company’s first interactive editor where he co-created the original website for the company.|
|A 17 year veteran of the interactive and entertainment industries, he has worked with a wide array of high profile companies including TV Guide, FOX and Warner Bros. Prof. Leib received his B.A from Hofstra University in Speech Communications, his MA from NYIT in Communication Arts and is completing his MFA in Fine Arts this spring.|
|Joseph Locicero is the Director of Operations for IPTV programming and production at Wellpoint. He is also responsible for designing video presentations and producing web based training. Previously, he was the creative liaison to the Board of Directors and designed corporate, provider, and member communications. His major role at Wellpoint is to unite the organization.|
|With over 20 years of experience in broadcasting and design, Professor LoCicero has worked in the healthcare, entertainment and mass communication sectors. He was involved in two entrepreneurial endeavors and has held positions at the WMCA, WVIP, and Continental Guest Services.|
|He graduated from New York University with a B.F.A. in Film and Television, and earned a M.A. from NYIT in Communication Arts with a computer graphics concentration. He is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts and the Art Directors Club.|
|Lawrence Mascia combines art and interactivity to create unimaginable beauty mixed with unmistakeable horror. He has spent time working for top record labels and design firms around New York. After working in the graphic design industry for many years, Lawrence earned his MFA in Design and Technology from The New School. Professor Mascia is currently running Dataplayed, a game development house for iOS.|
|Before deciding to teach and break into gaming Lawrence has run the gamut in job experience. He has designed holiday decorations for Martha Stewart, print work for Trustkill Records and interface design for Sortasoft. His work has been featured in Time Out: New York, The Village Voice, New York Magazine and Pitchfork: TV. Lawrence is now working full time for Dataplayed with hit iPhone games such as Sweatshop Superstar, Bumpin' and Greased Up.|
|Lawrence splits his time teaching between New York Institute of Technology and The New School.|
|Luba Nakonechna has been with NYIT for the past eight years in both an administrative and teaching positions. She began her career as a corporate computer programmer and an educator. She currently teaches Internet Marketing courses on the graduate and undergraduate level. She holds a Masters Degree in Engineering and Computer Science from Lvivska Polytechnika University, Lviv, Ukraine; and a Masters in Business Administration from NYIT. Additionally, she holds a certificate in Visual Basic 6.0.|
|Professor Nakonechna was involved in the online review of SAGE Publication’s new international management textbook. Her biography can be found in the latest edition of Who’s Who of Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs.|
|Peggy O'Keefe is a business communications professional and multimedia specialist. Her career has included experience as a corporate executive, educator, and consultant in strategic media communications and technology.|
|Her corporate experience included executive positions with Bankers Trust, The First Boston Corporation, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs. She established innovative internal service delivery and consulting departments producing video, business television, video conferencing and streaming media programs and events.|
|As an educator she has focused on university, executive, and continuing education. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level business communications, media management, and career development courses as an adjunct professor. Her recent professional work in higher education has included executive and continuing education program development, marketing, and management for major universities, and the Institute for Media and Entertainment. She is now leveraging her eclectic background and interests in talent management as an organizational and executive coach.|
|Her interests include cross cultural communication and diversity management. She has developed cross cultural training programs for global teams, communications and employee engagement programs for diversity initiatives, and served on diversity steering committees throughout her career. Her experience, expertise, and insights on these topics have been shared as a speaker and panelist at professional conferences.|
|Her academic credentials include a BS in Art Education from SUNY College at Buffalo, an MA in Communication Arts from NYIT, and a post graduate certificate in Organizational and Executive Coaching from New York University.|
|Lynn Rogoff has been in the forefront of original multimedia content, television production and theatre; producing, directing and writing for video games, theatre, and television. She founded the AMERIKIDS USA Company developing, AMERIKIDS ® as a pilot television series for ABC Network Television dramatizing the true adventures of heroic American teenagers. AMERIKIDS was awarded with a prestigious challenge grant from ORACLE Corporation to produce a prototype of her AMERIKIDS interactive game, Pony Express Rider which was published and released by McGraw-Hill Home Interactive for Christmas 1996 to critical acclaim. This live action, $1.5 million dollar blue screen-3-disk adventure was awarded a Crystal Award, a Bessie Award, National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, and a Family Channel Seal of Quality.|
|Her television film NO MAPS ON MY TAPS has aired nationally and internationally for over a decade. This film was honored with two Emmy Awards. She won a Nomination for Outstanding Writing Achievement from the Writers Guild of America. This film was the first to capture the black tap dancers' contribution to American history. She has worked as writer, producer and director on numerous award winning series: Sesame Street, Big Blue Marble, and Watch Your Mouth here in the US and Rehov Sum Sum in Israel (Israeli Sesame St.).|
|She was honored as a WGA, East Foundation Fellow, for dramatizing two early twentieth century American icons. This passionate love story LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA is based on correspondence between Emma Goldman and Dr. Ben Reitman. LOVE, BEN LOVE, EMMA was originally produced to critical acclaim by Lucille Lortel (White Barn Theatre ) on the East Coast in 1983, starring Olympia Dukakis, Judd Hirsch, Tovah Feldshuh, and in 1993, in Los Angeles at the Tiffany Theatre starring J.T. Walsh. She directed the New York premiere at NYU Studio Theatre Festival this past summer.|
|Most recently, Professor Rogoff's company recently created Green Kids Media which is presently creating a computer game entitled Bird Girl and the Green Gang. Bird Girl is a role model for the new Green Girl. She loves the earth, the plants, and the animals. Bird Girl and the Green Gang introduces the world of the Native American girl, who helps save Endangered Species World Wide. She is working with Green Charter Schools nationwide.Professor Rogoff received her MFA from NYU, School of the Arts, in Directing. Among her numerous directing credits is: A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee William, The Labyrinth by Arrabal, Attempted Rescue by Megan Terry, the award winning ballet Journey and The In Crowd, a rock opera by J. E. Franklin. She was honored to sit as a Judge for the National Endowment for the Humanities and serves as an adjunct Professor of Film & Media at St. Johns University and New York Institute for Technology.|
William Scheckel is a global marketing advisor whose expertise includes social media, branding, marketing communications and public relations strategy. He has worked with many of the world’s leading brands, including SAP, IBM, Shell and Deutsche Bank, as well as with heads of state, start-ups and growing companies around the globe.
For 9 years, he led the marketing strategy agency William Scheckel & Associates, based in Frankfurt, Germany, to win a number of sensitive, high-level projects including the roll-out of Shell.com, crisis control for Deutsche Bank and marketing communications for King Carl Gustav XVI of Sweden.
After moving back to the US, he built up marketing and outreach programs at the NJ Division on Civil Rights, Office of the Attorney General for 4 years, then assumed the role of chief of staff of SAP Global Marketing, where he managed projects throughout the 750-person organization, including global advertising campaigns, the relaunch of SAP.com, and the go-to-market strategy of a global product roll-out.
He received his BA from the University of Chicago and his Magister (MA) from Universität Konstanz, Germany.
|John Schwally has been working on award-winning documentary programs his entire professional career. He is currently Post Production Supervisor on A&E television’s hit series Steven Seagal: Lawman. His most recent work includes Line Producing and Field Directing on three documentaries for National Geographic Channel’s Naked Science series. Prior to this assignment, he was Project Director for Whetstone Productions and the United States Agency for International Development. The USAID program helped train Jordanian filmmakers in the techniques of modern, western-style documentary production. The 6-hour Discovery Science Channel series RoboCars again saw Professor Schwally Line Producing and Field Directing a 6-part series covering DARPA’s Urban Challenge. History Channel’s Battles B.C. series tapped Mr. Schwally’s talents as writer for the episode David: Giant Slayer, which aired to critical acclaim in early 2009. He is also the Coordinating Producer on the independent feature documentary Monks & Muslims: Finding Faith in Algeria. He provided editorial, logistical and budgeting services to The Independent Production Fund’s feature documentary The Mystery of Love, and similarly performed on IPF’s The Islam Project, a co-venture providing over four hours of national programming for ABC News’ Nightline program and a PBS Frontline special (Muslims). He was brought in as consulting producer for the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s latest HD film The Story of Intrepid.|
|Among other works, Professor Schwally was Executive Producer on the outdoor adventure program The Backpacking Experience (Outdoor Life Network/OLN/versus). He spent nearly two years as New York Bureau Chief for the national PBS series Religion & Ethics NewsWeekly before taking on the role of Executive Producer for Cablevision’s American Catholic Network. John also performed the dual roles of Field Producer and Production Manager on the Discovery Health Channel documentary series Beating the Odds. Further credits include work as Senior Production Manager on the national PBS series Nature, Adam Smith (Emmy winner), Innovation (Emmy winner) and Line Producer on the annual live production of the DuPont-Columbia University Awards in Journalism. He earned a third Emmy Award for his work as Production Manager on the PBS special SHE SAYS: Women in News, and a CINE Golden Eagle Award for work performed on Muslims.|
|He was instrumental in establishing the Producers Guild of America (PGA) East as founding Co-Chairman of the PGA East, and recently stepped down as co-chair of the PGA East Documentary Committee.|
|Rob Seitz started his consulting business, in 1982, as a marketing communications firm that specializes in telecommunications and other high-tech industries. He helped launch and position one of the first cellular phone services in the United States – before cellular phone service even became available to the general public. Over the years, his areas of industry specialization have broadened, as has the concentration of his company, now focused on “strategic relations.”|
|As new business opportunities presented themselves, largely on account of its reputation for service and results, Rob Seitz Communications (RSC) expanded its areas of expertise and industries served. It was soon doing international strategic relations for the leading biotechnology company headquartered in the United Kingdom. RSC was also awarded business by French and German telecommunications companies seeking representation in North America. And for several years, RSC was the New York representative for Young & Associates, a prominent public relations agency headquartered in the Washington, DC market that focused exclusively on telecommunications. This particular relationship resulted in many “dot.com” clients which, indirectly, lead to RSC’s involvement in meeting and special events planning, promotion and production. RSC has produced everything from multi-day international conferences for journalists and technology professionals, to jazz and foreign movie festivals.|
|Further expansion of industry focus came when RSC became the agency of record for a rapidly-growing international and culturally-diverse college with campuses in Westchester County, New York City, the Caribbean and online. Working as a communications consultant to a college inspired him to seek adjunct professor positions. Most recently, he taught a course in Social Media as it applies to the public relations profession to a graduate-level class in the School of Media and Communications Studies at Fordham University. His message to his students was the same message that he is delivering to audiences of business owners and professionals: Social Media has re-defined how we communicate. It has made the world a smaller place.
