Commencement Ceremonies

Main Commencement: All members of the Class of 2013 are welcomed to NYIT's 52nd annual commencement on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at NYIT's Old Westbury campus. The event will be streamed on the Web for those who can't attend in person. 

Visitor Information for Those Attending the Main Commencement:
If you plan on attending Commencement at NYIT's Old Westbury, Long Island campus, on Sunday, May 19, 2013, and visiting the New York area, please read the information below as it relates to your trip. We want to ensure you have all the information you need to make your visit here the best experience it can be!

• Hotel Reservations
  Learn more about convenient Long Island and Manhattan hotels, including NYIT's preferred hotels.
   
• Transportation to Campus on Commencement Day
  NYIT offers complimentary round-trip shuttle service to and from NYIT's Manhattan campus and the Melville Long Island Marriott.
   
• Reserving Your Commencement Tickets
  All graduates must log in and register to receive Commencement tickets. Each graduate can reserve a maximum of four tickets; the graduate does not require a ticket. Please select Saturday, May 18th, or Commencement day when prompted to select a day to pick up your tickets. Tickets cannot be mailed so this is the only selection available for out- of- town students.
   
• Picking Up Your Commencement Tickets
  If you will be on Long Island on Saturday, May 18, 2013, and you have transportation, you can visit the Old Westbury campus to pick up your tickets.

  If you are unable to pick up your tickets on Saturday, they will be waiting for you at the ticketing booth located outside on the tennis courts on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 8 to 11:30 a.m.
   
• Picking Up Your Cap and Gown (Commencement Regalia)
  All participating graduates must wear academic regalia (cap and gown).  You can order your regalia online. You may pick up your regalia at the NYIT Bookstore on Saturday, May 18 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and on Sunday, May 19 from 8 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. in the Bear's Den at the Student Activity Center.  
   
• Things to Do While in Town
  Throughout the week and weekend, families and friends from around the world will travel to NYIT to celebrate their graduate's successes. While here, we hope you take the time to enjoy all that New York has to offer. Please visit this page of helpful links to make your stay more enjoyable.
