Parking and Traffic on Campus

Because of the large number of visitors for Commencement, on-campus parking is limited and normal traffic patterns DO NOT apply! Upon arrival to campus, please follow the directions of the Old Brookville police and the parking staff.

On-campus parking will be closed shortly after the Commencement ceremony begins. Guests who arrive after the campus parking lots are filled will be re-directed to the adjacent LIU Post campus on Northern Boulevard, just east of NYIT Old Westbury, and will be transported via shuttle bus to the main tent. Please allow yourself extra time for traffic delays and parking.
 

Shuttle Service on Campus

Shuttle service around campus, as well as from LlU Post campus, will be available. Staff will direct graduates and guests to the shuttle pick-up/drop-off locations. Some parking fields are within walking distance of the tents.
 

LIRR – Manhasset Train Station

Complimentary round-trip shuttle service will be available between the Manhasset LIRR train station and NYIT's Old Westbury campus. Only trains arriving at the Manhasset LIRR train station from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. will be met by a shuttle bus to campus, anyone arriving after 10:30 a.m. will need to arrange for local cab service.  Shuttle buses will depart the Old Westbury campus from noon – 2:30 p.m. for transportation to the Manhasset LIRR station.

Round-Trip Shuttle Service from NYIT's Manhattan campus to NYIT's Old Westbury campus

No more reservations are available for the shuttle bus service from Manhattan campus. If you haven't made a reservation already, you will need to find alternative transportation.

The shuttles will depart in front of NYIT, 16 W. 61st. St., between Columbus and Broadway at 7:00 a.m. sharp and will leave Old Westbury campus at 3 p.m.  

Round-Trip Shuttle Service from Hotels

• Long Island
  Complimentary round trip shuttle service will be provided to and from the Melville Marriott and NYIT’s Old Westbury campus on Commencement day. Reservations are required.

  No more reservations are available for the shuttle bus service from Manhattan campus. If you haven't made a reservation already, you will need to find alternative transportation.

• New York City
  Guests staying at the three preferred hotel locations in Manhattan: Six Columbus, The Hudson Hotel and The Empire Hotel, may join the complimentary round trip shuttle service provided from NYIT’s Manhattan campus to NYIT’s Old Westbury campus and back on the day of Commencement. These three hotels are within walking distance of the shuttle pick-up/drop-off at the Manhattan campus. Space is limited and you MUST make an advanced bus reservation.
