Registration for Online Program

Important: To register for your first semester, you must have your advisor's approval. Without approval, you may not register.

  1. Students who are registering for graduate courses at NYIT for the first time are required to register using a paper form signed by your advisor. This form can be mailed or faxed back and forth. Please be aware that you will not be permitted to register for your first semester without your advisor’s signature on the registration form. You cannot send the form directly to the registrar's office.
  2. This procedure is only used when you are registering for the first time. You will be able to register online through NYITConnect for your second semester without your advisor's signature, if you have satisfied all the conditions on your admissions. In order to register online, you must consult with you advisor who can "open up" your registration on the computer account for the upcoming semester.
  3. During the first semester any add/drop changes require your advisors signature as well. Withdrawal from courses always require instructor permission.
  4. Once you are admitted for classes, you can activate your NYITConnect user name and create a password for NYIT MyMail (your NYIT e-mail account) and NYITConnect.
    • Your NYIT e-mail is the main form of communication with students about academic and college-wide notices and/or changes. You can also forward your NYIT e-mail to your personal e-mail account.
    • NYITConnect allows you to register for classes, obtain grades and academic progress reports, and conduct other academic and financial affairs with NYIT.
  5. Satisfy your tuition bill.
Once you register for your classes, your tuition fees for the semester are available.  Tuition payment is due on Jan. 1 for the spring semester. For all details about payment options and due dates, please contact the NYIT Bursar online or by phone.
