The "School of Real Life" Intern Scholarship Fund
It's a fact: internships are an absolute necessity for students in today's competitive global market. It's also a fact that many employers do not or cannot offer paid internships. This forces many students to choose between gaining valuable work experience and earning money to cover living expenses.
NYIT Career Services is partnering with employers and alumni to offer the "School of Real Life" Intern Scholarship Fund. Each year the fund pays a "living wage" stipend for one NYIT student who has accepted an unpaid summer internship. Students may apply beginning in their sophomore year. Preference will be given to those students who demonstrate financial need, a sound work ethic, and/or an interest in working for a non-profit organization.
Employers: E-mail the Office of Career Services to donate to the fund or find out more about the program.
