The purpose of the Campus Programming Board (CPB) shall be to provide the New York Institute of Technology's student body with multicultural, social, recreational, educational, and entertaining programs that are responsive to the needs of the student body and consistent with the mission of the New York Institute of Technology's Student Government Association and the College.
The Old Westbury CPB is to help take away from the stress of constant studying and provide the student body with a fuller college experience. With its many social events bringing together anybody willing and ready to have fun, the educational lectures motivating the student at NYIT to achieve more, and the community service projects giving back whenever possible. CPB makes sure there is no dull moment on campus!
The CPB is in charge of holding traditional events such as:
The CPB also holds these great events through the year:
The CPB provides all of these events free of charge and usually with food! (unless otherwise stated)
There are so many opportunities that you gain from being a part of the CPB. You will become a student leader and learn valuable lessons in public speaking, time management, and teamwork. You get the chance to work closely with the Deans of Campus Life. You also gain a wealth of experience in booking events and working with agents. Join and give yourself fun and exciting years full of memories that will last a lifetime!
The CPB is made up of three positions: the President who heads the group, the Vice President who is second in command, and treasurer as want to give their time and be dedicated to the position. If you want to learn more about the CPB, you can read over the constitution (PDF).
If you are interested in joining the CPB, then please fill out this application (Word doc) and return it to anyone of the current CPB members or bring it to the Office of Campus Life.
