Students registered for classes at NYIT's Manhattan campus are eligible for a free membership to the West Side YMCA. Memberships are limited to 600 students. Registration generally takes place the first two weeks of classes each semester. Students must provide a copy of their current NYIT student ID (if a student already has a YMCA card, they should bring it as well). Only NYIT students at the Manhattan campus are eligible.

The YMCA registration schedule (dates, times, and location) is posted the first day of classes each semester. Look for it on bulletin boards and elevator entrances in each building on the Manhattan campus. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will end when all spaces are filled.

Students must renew their YMCA memberships each semester.

Summer 2008 YMCA registration schedule (must be registered for summer or fall courses):

• Starting May 21 - 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily in the Office of Student Activities.
• Summer membership will expire Sept. 14, 2008
• You MUST re-register for the summer semester.
  
• Please have your NYIT ID and YMCA ID, if you have one.

Students living in Clark Residence Hall are not eligible for YMCA membership. They receive a membership to the Eastern Athletic Club next door to their building in Brooklyn Heights.

Students attending classes on the Old Westbury campus have access to fitness facility on their campus; they are not eligible for YMCA membership.
