NYIT's recipe for catering success starts and ends with a diverse menu made from the highest quality products. At NYIT all food preparation is done on premises, using the finest, freshest ingredients to create our signature dishes. Add a dedicated team of professionals obsessed with customer satisfaction and you'll understand why clients keep coming back for more.

For on- or off-campus catering, our team provides the highest quality of food, service, and style.  Our passionate culinarians are prepared to catered any NYIT function, from continental breakfasts to boxed lunches to buffet dinners. From an intimate social gathering to a lavish eight-course banquet, catering is offered at our reception facility, the NYIT de Seversky Mansion, located on NYIT's Old Westbury campus in the heart of Nassau County.

What You Need to Know When Placing a Catering Order

Orders should be emailed to campusdining@nyit.edu Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Or use our new catering order form, which can be requested by calling 516.686.1440. The form can be returned via e-mail.

If you do not receive a contract from us within three hours, please follow up to ensure your request has been received. Fax your signed contracts to 516.686.1330. Please place large orders at least one week in advance and small orders least 24 hours in advance. Please do not fax orders or changes. The invoice will be based on guaranteed count or actual count, whichever is greater.

 

Client Responsibility

NYIT community members should:

  • place orders for tables with Facilities.
  • contact Security to open room at least 30 minutes prior to event start time
  • make sure someone is there to receive orders - drivers are not responsible to wait until guests arrive.

For catering events held in 16 W. 61st St., please request freight elevator service for events that require early morning setup or are scheduled past 5 p.m. and on weekends. Client is responsible for payment of use of the elevator.

Information required when placing an order

  1. The date and time of your event
  2. Where it will be held (building and room)
  3. How many people do you expect
  4. Phone number of booking contact
  5. Drop-off time and pick-up time 
  6. Menu selection and beverage requirements
  7. Booking contact and on-site contact
  8. Department name, budget #, and account #
  9. Do you require additional linens and or equipment
  10. Do you require high-end plastic or china and glassware

 

Delivery Charges

Catering orders that require equipment setup and pickup will be charged an 18% service charge. Saturday and Sunday events may require additional labor costs.

There is a 10-person minimum on orders (there is a $2.50 charge per person under the minimum). Drivers are scheduled to pick up orders based on contracted pickup time. If the driver is turned away and has to come back at a later time, there will be a $75 charge.

Dropoff only orders Monday through Friday will not incur service charge. Please note: Beverages delivered for dro off only will be chilled; ice is not provided. Dropoff-only orders that require wire racks for hot food will be charged a $50 deposit. In Manhattan, the client is responsible for returning wire racks to the kitchen at the Student Activities Center at 1849 Broadway. If racks are not returned, client will be charged for each rack missing. All equipment delivered will be on loan and replacement charges will result if the equipment is missing or damaged upon pick up.

 

Payment Method

All prices quoted are for NYIT groups paying through an NYIT budget line. Budget number is required for billing purposes. Outside Organizations paying for NYIT events are required to provide a tax exempt ID number in order not to be charged tax. Personal orders being paid by cash, check or credit card are subject to NYS Sales Tax.

 

What we provide

Food and beverage for the guaranteed number of guests. Disposable plates, cups and utensils for the guaranteed number of guests.

Personal Catering Orders

NYIT staff and faculty are entitled to 10% discount on all catering orders. The discount is intended as a benefit to NYIT employees only and not to be used by friends or family members. In order to receive the discount, catering requests must be placed and paid for by the NYIT employee. Food Services reserves the right to decline a request the discount if we feel it is being used improperly.

  • All delivery orders are subject to a delivery charge.
  • Food can be picked up Monday through Friday from the Student Activities Center at no additional charge.
  • All orders are subject to NYS sales tax. Payment can be made by check, Visa, MasterCard, or American Express at the Food Services Office.
  • Catering Orders must be paid for in advance at the Food Service Office.

Please note: Payment for personal catering orders cannot be paid for with the NYIT ID Card.

 

Cancellation Policy

When canceling an event, please provide 24 hours notice by phone call and in writing, either by e-mail or fax. If you do not provide notice within 24 hours, you will be charged for the event.
