NYIT Inks MoU with Hanseo University

October 25, 2016

NYIT President Edward Guiliano, Ph.D., Provost Rahmat Shoureshi, Ph.D., and Dean Nada Anid, Ph.D. welcomed Hanseo Vice President for External Affairs Joung-hyun (April) Ham and Professor Hyun-sung Kim, Ph.D., president of the institution’s Industry-University Cooperation Foundation, in Manhattan. President Guiliano and Vice President Ham signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) stating their intention to pursue joint academic programs.

Hanseo, established in 1991, enrolls more than 10,000 students annually and offers degrees in liberal arts, engineering, and design, as well as flight training and aviation programs. The private university is a leader in aeronautical engineering and industrial design, and operates two campuses in South Korea and two campuses in California.

Ham said that Hanseo seeks agreements that strengthen both itself and its partner. NYIT’s strengths in engineering design, aerospace engineering, and digital art and design, combined with its connections in New York, make this partnership desirable. Later this year, Shoureshi will visit Hanseo’s campus in Seosan, near Seoul.
