News Byte: President Foley Once Again Named to City & State’s Higher Education Power 100

March 29, 2022

City & State New York named New York Tech President Hank Foley, Ph.D., to its Higher Education Power 100 list for his work to increase the university’s reputation and national standing. “Foley has sought to increase the university’s global outreach and management of resources. The institute’s School of Architecture and Design recently secured philanthropic support for its digital fabrication and robotic matter labs, and graduate programs,” said City & State New York.

The magazine looked at the ways college and university presidents in New York dealt with issues that extended beyond the classroom.

According to City & State New York, “higher education leaders have adapted to reinstating in-person teaching while revising earlier COVID-19 public safety measures. They’ve addressed urgent calls to combat racism and climate change both on and off campus. And they’ve continued to provide students with the skills they need to thrive in an ever-changing economy. Many moved to meet these challenges while collaborating with student bodies, local communities and government officials.”

City & State also recognized higher education officials whose work furthers diversity, equity, and inclusion. Brian Harper, M.D., vice president for equity and inclusion and chief medical officer, was highlighted in the special section “Driving Diversity on Campus” for his achievements.
