Long Island Press named New York Institute of Technology President Hank Foley, Ph.D., as one of the region’s top leaders in its 2020 Power List. Each year, 100 of Long Island’s most powerful movers and shakers in business, education, philanthropy, unions, and politics are named to the list, which highlights leaders’ efforts to effectively and benevolently impact the community.

This year’s nominees were recognized across a variety of categories, including Hall of Famers, Rainmakers, Dealmakers, Innovators, Change Makers, Mind Shapers, and Policy Shapers, among others. Schneps Media, the parent company of Long Island Press, celebrated honorees at a reception on February 27 at The Carltun in East Meadow, where Northwell Health CEO Michael Dowling delivered the keynote address.

“As Michael Dowling of Northwell Health noted in his keynote address, leadership is an honor and a privilege,” said President Foley, who was recognized in the Mind Shaper category. “At New York Tech, we are educating a new generation of doers, makers, innovators, and leaders who will reinvent the future. It is an honor to be named to the Long Island Press Power List. I am humbled and deeply grateful for this distinction.”

Foley’s leadership and vision to take the university to new heights has earned him notable recognition in the local community. Prior to being named to the 2020 Long Island Press Power List, he was also honored by Long Island Business News with an Executive Circle Award.
