Dr. Deel graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. He completed an internship in Internal Medicine with the Navy and then served for four years as a General Medical Officer. Deel deployed twice with the USS Ashland as Senior Medical Officer and once with 1st Battalion 2nd Marines as Battalion Surgeon. He left the Navy and completed a residency in family medicine at UAMS AHEC-NE in Jonesboro, Ark. Following graduation, Deel worked in the Emergency Department at St. Bernards Medical Center, during which time he completed a one-year fellowship in point-of-care ultrasound. He joined NYITCOM in July 2016 as an assistant professor in the OMM department. Deel is particularly interested in simulation-based learning and point-of-care ultrasound.
