Frances Campani is a painter and an architect. In painting, she works in oil, pastel, and charcoal. Her work explores dialogues between observation and invention, representation and composition, spontaneity, and calculation. She exhibits her work on a regular basis. In spring 2016, Campani served a New York Tech Affiliated Fellow at the American Academy in Rome. She earned her master’s degree from Columbia University and her bachelor’s degree from Stony Brook University.

She is a practicing architect and partner of the firm Campani and Schwartig Architects in Port Jefferson, N.Y. The firm has been recognized for affordable housing and community design, including awards from the Long Island chapter of the American Institute of Architects for a mixed use development on the Lower East Side of New York City and a master plan for Port Jefferson.
