Callie Osborne

Callie Osborne enters her second season as an assistant coach with the softball team. A graduate of Hofstra University, Osborne pitched for two seasons for the Pride after transferring from Briarcliffe College in Bethpage, New York. She was a two-time Colonial Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year and a two-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Mid Atlantic Region selection. She broke the Hofstra school record for lowest earned run average as a junior, when she finished the year 12-3 with a 0.79 ERA. She then shattered the school record for consecutive wins as a senior, tallying 21 consecutive victories in the circle on her way to a 25-7 final record. The 25 wins were also one shy of the school mark for wins in a season.

Osborne's efforts helped the Pride to consecutive appearances in the NCAA Regional finals. In 2004, Osborne helped Hofstra come one win shy of reaching the Women's College World Series. She picked up a no-decision in the Pride's opening game, when she allowed two hits over 7.2 innings in a 1-0, nine-inning victory over #12 Auburn before being forced to leave the game with an injury. In 2005, Osborne pitched Hofstra into the regional finals for the second year in a row with a complete-game four-hitter in a win over Arizona State. She also came four outs shy of a no-hitter in the CAA Championship game as a senior, when she earned the win over Towson.

As a senior, Osborne helped Hofstra set a school record for wins in a season, as the Pride finished with a 43-16-1 record. It was her win over Arizona State in the regional finals that also set the mark, as the 2000 team held the previous record with 42 wins. She finished her two-year career with a combined 37-10 record, including 19 shutouts and a pair of no-hitters, to go along with a 1.31 earned run average and 253 strikeouts.

Prior to attending Hofstra, Osborne was an All-American selection at Briarcliffe College, where she helped her team reach the National Junior College World Series. She is a native of Oshawa, Ontario and attended the Ecole Catholique St. Charles-Garnier in Brooklyn, Ontario before attending college in the United States.
