(Feb. 6, 2012) - Redshirt freshman Jahleel Felix (Flushing, N.Y.) was selected for the second time this season as the East Coast Conference Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week, it was announced Monday by the league office. Felix helped the Bears to a 1-1 week and led in scoring in both games.

(Feb. 4, 2012) - Rookie Jahleel Felix (Flushing, N.Y.) tallied a season-high 22 points to lead NYIT men's basketball to a 90-79 win over Mercy College in East Coast Conference action Saturday afternoon. Felix was one of four Bears to score double-digits as NYIT improved to 8-11 on the season and evened to 5-5 in league play.

(Feb. 4, 2012) - Mercy forward Talia Beaulieu hit the game-winning shot with just two seconds remaining to lift the Mavericks to a 75-74 East Coast Conference win over NYIT Saturday afternoon. Mercy improved to 2-18 overall and 2-9 in league play with the win, while the Bears dropped to 13-9 on the season and 6-4 in ECC play.
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Jan. 30, 2012) - Junior Chloe Johnson (Sea Cliff, N.Y.) led all players with 18 points and 12 rebounds to help NYIT women's basketball to a 75-66 win over Dominican College Monday evening. It was her first double-double of the year. With the win the Bears improved to 13-7 on the season, while the Chargers dropped to 9-8 overall.
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Jan. 25, 2012) – Junior Dominic Scurry (Ozone Park, N.Y.) lead all scorers with 15 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out three assists as he helped NYIT men’s basketball to a hard-fought 69-65 victory over Queens College. With the win the Bears evened their East Coast Conference record at 4-4, while their overall record improved to 7-10.
OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (Jan. 25, 2012) - Junior Nikki Jo Rotolo (Rome, N.Y.) led the NYIT women’s basketball team with 19 points to claim a 78-56 win over visiting Queens College on Wednesday night on Coaches vs. Cancer night. The result was the third consecutive East Coast Conference victory for the Bears as they improve to 12-7 overall and 6-2 in ECC play, moving into second place in the current standings. The Knights are still in search of their first ECC win at an 0-8 mark and 1-17 overall.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Jan. 21, 2012) – NYIT men’s basketball rallied from as many as 14 points down with 3:49 to play in the first half to battle through an overtime 79-75 win on the road at Bridgeport Saturday afternoon. NYIT improved to 6-10 on the season and 3-4 in league play with the win, while the loss snapped Bridgeport’s (10-7, 5-2 ECC) three-game win streak.
