Centerville, Mass. (June 15, 2009) - NYIT men’s lacrosse seniors Keith Henderson (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Matt Messina (Sayville, N.Y) were both selected to the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) First Team All-Stars in division II men’s lacrosse.

This is just another honor the senior duo earned this season as they were both selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American First Team, and the East Coast Conference (ECC) All-Conference First Team. Henderson and Messina were also selected to play in the 68th annual North/South D I/II all-star game. Henderson finished the year with a team-leading 45 goals and 62 points, while Messina was second on the team with 24 assists and third with 20 goals.

Henderson was part of two National Championships teams in 2005 and 2008, and broke two of NYIT’s most coveted all-time records, finishing his career with 224 points and 171 goals. Messina was also a part of the 2008 National Championship team and was selected by the Boston Cannons in the 2009 Major League Lacrosse collegiate draft.
