Old Westbury N.Y. (May 19, 2009) – NYIT men’s lacrosse seniors Keith Henderson (Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.) and Matt Messina (Sayville N.Y.) were both selected to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) First Team All-American team. Henderson finished the year with a team leading 45 goals and 62 points, while Messina was second on the team with 24 assists and third with 20 goals. Henderson and Messina were both selected to the East Coast Conference All-Conference First Team as well, leading the Bears to a 10-2 record. This season Henderson broke two of NYIT’s most coveted all-time records, finishing his career with 224 points and 171 goals. Messina was also a USILA Second Team All-American selection in 2008.
